Well, I bit the bullet and bought the iMac. It’s a beautiful machine. Have I got alot to learn? You betcha. But it’s real pretty.
I hope it gets to be fun, or I’ll be throwing my shoe at this computer too. Hope I make it through the weekend with my head still attached to my neck. I’ll let you know. Wish me luck because I’m gonna need it.
It will take a bit of time – it seemed to me that anything that was on the right on a pc was on the left on a mac, but I got used to it. The other thing is the filing system. When I discovered that you can open 2 finder windows and just drag files between the 2 everything was much better. Also, with the pc I did everything with keys, rarely using the mouse. It has taken some time to get used to mousing more. I still like key shortcuts, but haven’t found and relearned some of them. Never was a mouse fan. It also took me a bit of time to get used to having the things on the bottom ‘shelf’ but now I really like that feature and keep all my most used program icons there. I got rid of ones I don’t use. I sure do like the newer browsers where you can have multiple tabs open – a big improvement over the old ones. I’d say it took me about a month to get the hang of it.
Thanks Lorraine. I hope it gets easier, I have things to do! LOL.
You will love it! We have been a Mac house for years-

Sheryl, it’s all a lot of fun, but I get so frustrated trying make it work. And I have to move data from the old machine to this one. Sigh…
